Educators for a Multilingual Maine
Statement regarding bullying and harassment
The safety and wellness of our members is our number one priority. EMME does not tolerate bullying or harassment of any kind and is committed to providing ALL educators and language learners with a supportive, friendly, safe, and positive environment, free from harassing language and behavior. Our goal is the same as in our classrooms: to create a respectful multilingual and multicultural community. We all have something to offer this organization and we all have something we can learn from one another. We value the knowledge and experience each member brings to the table regardless of their role, heritage, background, educational experience, or years of experience. Furthermore, we support and abide by the Maine Civil Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation.
Members of EMME, as well as conference attendees and presenters, are expected to uphold standards of conduct and decency, treat each other with mutual respect and courtesy, promote civil discourse, and help maintain a positive learning environment for all members of the community.
EMME thanks you for helping educators in Maine learn and grow in a safe, caring, and supportive environment.
